Teams and Clubs

SPORTS TEAMS:

At Dunlop, students in grades 4-6 have the opportunity to try out and participate in a variety of sports teams. Teachers run tryouts and practices during recess for students who are interested. Students have the opportunity to represent Dunlop at Regional Tournaments. We have Bordenball, Basketball, Volleyball, Soccer, Track & Field and Cross-Country Running teams. Students are encouraged to listen closely to announcements so they are aware of tryout dates.

CLUBS:

Clubs are run by teachers at different times throughout the year. These give students the opportunity to connect with others, try something new or simply change up recess activities. Our Rainbow Club is a safe space for students who identify or want to learn more about the LGBTQ2S+ community. Our Run Club is open to all students who are interested in learning how to run longer distances. Last year, several Run Club members attended the Ottawa Race Weekend together! The Dunlop Dance Club teaches students how to move to a beat and learn choreographed dances which may be performed during assemblies throughout the year. The Games Club is for our Primary (grade 1-3) students interested in playing cooperative card/board games with friends. Finally, our Coding Club allows Junior students (grades 4-6) the opportunity to learn computer coding skills.

Clubs are primarily run by teachers, however, we are happy to welcome parents/community members who are interested in volunteering their time to run a club. If you are interested in hosting a club, please contact the office.
