Our Students
Dunlop P.S. has an enrollment of 126 students. Our diverse student population represents many different countries and language groups. Students in our attendance area move to Blossom Park P.S. or Featherston Drive P.S. for Middle French Immersion. Our Grade 6 students in the Regular English program move on to Roberta Bondar P.S. for Grades 7 and 8.
Our Staff
Dunlop P.S. has 10 full time equivalent teachers on staff. We also have a number of full and part-time support personnel (educational assistants, early childhood educators, office administrator, office assistant & custodial staff). This year we are pleased to have one Lunch Monitor and Healthy Snack Monitor supporting teachers and students at Nutrition Break times.
Many of our teachers have additional or Specialist Qualifications in one or more of the following: Special Education, English as a Second Language, French as Second Language, Science and the Arts. The teachers, office, and support staff work as a team, continuously seeking professional growth opportunities, in order to ensure our school is a safe and caring place to learn and to model life-long learning.
Our Community
Drawing from the South Keys and Greenboro Communities, families at Dunlop Public School represent a rich diversity of people who bring a wealth of different experiences to share and enrich our school.
Volunteers are welcomed to participate in school activities and in support of the instructional program. They form an important component of our school community. We welcome student placements from Algonquin College and from various Bachelor of Education programs. We also have many community volunteers who join with our parents during the school day to participate in a variety of activities, including: reading to kindergarten children, classroom help, organizing fundraising events, tutoring, working in the library, etc. We look forward to the day we can partner with parents in this meaningful way once again.
Our School Council is currently being developed for the 2022-23 school year. Historically, it has consisted of an active volunteer group of members of the school community who work tirelessly on behalf of the students. Any parents/guardians interested in being a part of the upcoming School Council, are asked to contact the principal. Monthly meeting dates and times will be determined early in the Fall.
Our School is a Community School, used regularly by various organizations.
